Herbert Charles Hudson's death announcement. 21 June, 1928. Sydney Morning Herald

MR. H.C. HUDSON DEATH ANNOUNCED
The sudden death of Mr. Herbert C. Hudson took place yesterday morning at his residence, Roxmere, Homebush. Three or four years ago he gave up active connection with the operations of the well-known firm of contractors, Loveridge and Hudson, of which, in conjunction with the late Mr. Thomas Loveridge, who died in December last, he had been a member for many years.

Mr. Hudson was educated at the Sydney Grammar School. He was the second son of the late Mr. Henry Hudson, the senior member of Hudson Bros., Ltd., and the founder and for many years the chairman of directors of the Clyde Engineering Co., Ltd, at Granville. Mr. Herbert Hudson was himself a member of the directorate of the Clyde Engineering Co and for a time was chairman, but was forced by Ill-health to relinquish that position. He continued to be interested in a number of other business organisations and was well enough on Tuesday to preside over a meeting of directors of the Equitable Permanent Building, Land, and Investment Co.

He died In his sleep during the early hours of yesterday morning.
Mr. Hudson married the sister of his former partner, and Mrs. Hudson and four sons survive him. The sons are: Messrs Leslie Hudson, of Smith and Johnson, public accountants; Herbert Hudson, who has grazing interests at Baan Baa; Colin Hudson, who is carrying on operations with the firm of Loveridge and Hudson; and Stuart Hudson, solicitor, in association with Mr. E. S. Dunhill, of Bligh-street.
Messrs Loveridge and Hudson were associated in erecting some of Sydney's most not- able buildings. These included the Bank of Australasia (head office), the Equitable Building in George-street, additions to St. Mary's Cathedral, and the Registrar-General's Department. They also were the owners of large trachyte quarries with works at Bowral, Redfern, and Petersham.

The funeral will leave for Rookwood this morning, after a service at St. Anne's Church of England, Strathfield, at 10.15 o'clock.
