Loveridge and Hudson Jubilee - The Southern Mail 14 Oct 1932

LOVERIDGE AND HUDSON JUBILEE.

Messrs. Loveridge and Hudson, of Bowral and Sydney, celebrated their jubilee this week. The two original partners, the late Mr. Thos Loveridge and the late Mr. H. C. Hudson, served their apprenticeships with the late Mr.
Aaron Loveridge, who had been a builder and contractor in Sydney since 1852, and when he relinquished business in 1882, the operations came under the control of the late Thomas Loveridge, of Burwood, and Herbert C. Hudson, of Homebush. Messrs Loveridge and Hudson have been responsible for the erection of some of Sydney's later substantial structures. They also constructed the Kangaroo Valley Suspension Bridge. The use of trachyte in the Equitable Building in 1891 led to the firm devoting itself largely to the development of its well-known trachyte quarries at Bowral, and from this time and for a number of succeeding years, Mr. Alfred S. Loveridge was also a member of the firm. The latest work is exemplified in the recently completed additions to the Commonwealth Bank.
